OUR STORY
The Bike Ride to Montauk was started by local community member Jim Cummings of East Islip. It was his sincere desire to help others by raising money for a local community member, and riding his bike to Montauk in their honor. Jim passed away in 2014, we are very proud to continue his mission every year to help a local family.
THIS YEARS NOMINEE:
The Family of
John Hanley
We will be honoring the Family of John Hanley from East Islip. John was born and raised in East Islip, he was a loving husband to Patricia and devoted father of five children when he passed suddenly on April 6, 2024.
John was a family man who was always concerned about the welfare of others and instilled upon his children the importance of family and community. He served as a police officer and member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
One of Johns biggest concerns was for his daughter Kayla who is suffering with a debilitating medical condition leaving her disabled and in constant pain. John’s passing leaves not only a financial hole for his surviving family but also for ongoing medical expenses for Kayla.
Please join us on our efforts to help support the Hanley family.
Raffle prizes will be available in the upcoming days. We will update everyone when they become available.
